Dr Rebecca Cleary

Dr Rebecca Cleary is a Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist. Rebecca is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). After completing her medical training at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom in 2006, Rebecca immigrated to Australia and under took her physician and specialist advanced training in clinical and laboratory haematology at a number of Brisbane hospitals including the Princess Alexandra hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital as well as the Royal Women’s and Brisbane Hospital. Rebecca enjoys caring for patients with both acute and chronic malignant and non-malignant haematological presentations, with a strong focus on establishing excellent rapport with her patients and their families through the course of their investigation and subsequent treatment. Ensuring that all patients have a thorough understanding of their diagnosis and treatment is a priority in Rebecca’s practice. Rebecca has a strong focus on current best practice by keeping up to date with developments in the field of Haematology and participating in professional development and teaching.

Rebecca has a diverse interest in the diagnosis and management in both malignant and non-malignant haematological issues, including: 
 

·         Diagnostic work up abnormal full blood counts including anaemia and other cytopenias

·         Multiple Myeloma 

·         Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL)

·         Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML)

·         Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)

·         Myeloproliferative disorders including polycythemia, myelofibrosis and essential thrombocythemia

·         Lymphoma 

·         Thrombosis and haemostasis
